Residential Treatment Assistant I

Job Summary

Utilizing psychiatric rehabilitation model and recovery principles, provide therapeutic support, structure, assistance and skill training for young adults.

Specific Duties

  • Attend trainings on recovery concepts; WRAP; and psychiatric rehabilitation as assigned.
  • Implement on a consistent basis interventions and services based on recovery model of care, WRAP and psychiatric rehabilitation.

  • Maintain on going communication with each resident’s family.
  • Maintain open and on-going communication and collaboration with all team members.
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed in a timely, comprehensive and legible manner.
  • Assist residents in the implementation of their individual goals such as teaching a resident the steps involved in using public transportation; accompany a resident to obtain photo ID.
  • Provide supervision of residents at all times.
  • Provide program coverage/shift coverage as assigned.
  • Transport and accompany residents to appointments and activities.

  • Oversee daily household chores and tasks are completed and ensure overall cleanliness and orderliness of house.
  • Develop and maintain a therapeutic relationship and understanding of each resident – to include knowing and implementing individual plans; knowledge of resident history and current needs; maintain awareness and follow through of any special accommodations (i.e. health/medical status).
  • Maintain clear and consistent expectations.
  • Act as a role model at all times, maintaining appropriate boundaries and demonstrating effective communication skills.
  • Maintain a safe, consistent, and supportive environment.
  • Contact supervisor or on call supervisor regarding any unusual incidents, issues or concerns.
  • Facilitate and/or co-facilitate groups and community meetings as assigned.
  • Plan, facilitate and actively participate in community activities for residents.
  • Upon successful completion of training, monitor residents taking their medication.
  • Support and assist residents in maintaining the residence to include – food preparation; house cleaning; laundry; shopping.
  • Provide crisis intervention in a calm, therapeutic manner when indicated.
  • Be aware of and follow Path policies and procedures including those regarding confidentiality of treatment.
  • Participate in team meetings and case conferences.
  • Participate in supervision, trainings and other assigned committees.
  • Be aware of all applicable licensing regulations, funding requirements and agency procedures.
  • Contribute to any quality improvement/outcome measurement tracking, development, and data gathering as assigned.

Position Requirements

2 years of direct experience working with youth, preferably with individuals who have co-occurring disorders. Valid driver’s license and ability to drive agency vehicle

Education Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Young Adult Residential Treatment Facility on the campus of Friends Hospital in Philadelphia

Schedule

40 Hours per Week

Salary

$24,898 per Year / $11.97 per Hour
