Who is served?
You are served if you are the parent or caregiver of a teenager.
Why is the service offered?
The Parenting Education Program helps you build upon your skills to effectively meet the challenges of parenting a teenager.
What is the service?
- You will meet privately with a professional counselor who will provide you with information about the program.
- You will attend a series of (12) weekly group meetings designed to increase your understanding of teenage behavior.
- You will receive information and training on topics that include: substance abuse, academic difficulties, aggression, peer pressure, discipline and limit setting.
- You will have the opportunity to share your experiences with other parents and caregivers who can offer support as you help each other solve problems.
- You and your family can participate in family oriented social activities offered during the 12 week period.
- Assistance with child care and transportation costs is available, if needed.

When is the service available?
Evening and afternoon groups are offered throughout the year.

You reside in Philadelphia and you are the parent or caregiver of a teenager.
