Who is served?


You are served if you attend a public elementary or middle school in Northeast Philadelphia and you are experiencing difficulty in school.

Why is the service offered?

The School Based Social Services Program helps you and your family obtain the services needed to overcome challenges which may be limiting your achievement and success in school.

What is the service?

  • You and your family will meet privately with a Resource Specialist who will listen to your concerns and help you identify reasons why you are experiencing difficulties in school.

  • You and your family will be helped by your Resource Specialist to obtain supports and benefits to meet your academic, social and medical needs.
  • Your Resource Specialist will also help you and your family obtain mental health or substance abuse treatment, if needed.
  • You may also participate in groups at your school which are scheduled throughout the year to bring students with similar concerns together.

When is the service available?

Monday through Friday - 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

You are eligible to receive services if:

You attend one of the schools listed above.
